Ladies and Gentlemen

Sustainable development, higher education and research management as well as human security – these issues have been the cornerstones of my professional and political life for the last thirty years. Bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and decision-making is a prerequisite for successfully committing politics to comprehensive approach-es that benefits all. I'm grateful to be able to commit myself to these global challenges as Managing Partner of econcept and as Vice-Chair of the board of directors of BAKBASEL economics, as the President of the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) and of the Institut de Hautes Etudes en Administration Public in Lausanne (IDHEAP), as member of the European Research Area Board (ERAB) and of the Board of the ETH Domain.
